Matthew Moody went a combined 8-0 between action at #1 singles and #1 doubles in a 3-1 week for the Tigers that included a 3-0 run against ODAC opponents. Hampden-Sydney jumped to fourth in the ODAC standings at 5-2 in league play.
Moody joined his brother Michael for four victories at top-flight doubles. They won 8-5 over Southern Virginia, 8-4 over Lynchburg, 8-1 against Randolph, and 8-2 against Randolph-Macon. Matthew picked up a 6-4, 6-4, win in singles play against SVU, making him responsible for two of H-SC's points in their 5-4 team setback. He earned a 6-3, 4-6, 10-5, in the Tigers' 7-2 victory over Lynchburg. He added a 6-2, 6-0, win in Hampden-Sydney's 9-0 win over Randolph, and finished with a 6-0, 6-1, triumph in H-SC's 7-2 decision over Randolph-Macon. Moody is now 12-4 in singles play and is 15-1 in doubles play as part of the regionally 15th-ranked doubles tandem with Michael.
