Hampden-Sydney Soccer fell 2-0 at Randolph-Macon on Wednesday night in ODAC action. 


  • Final Score: Randolph-Macon 2, Hampden-Sydney 0
  • Records: Hampden-Sydney 3-4-1, 1-2 ODAC; Randolph-Macon 4-4-0, 1-2 ODAC
  • Location: Ashland, VA – Daly Field


  • The Tigers were aggressive from the outset, drawing two corner kicks and a shot on goal in the first three minutes, but it was the Yellow Jackets who struck first as Peyton Chichester sent a pass in the box and Isaac Myers redirected it into the far post at 8:57
  • The rest of the half saw the physicality kicked up a notch while defenses stepped up. Both teams tried just three shots apiece with H-SC registering one shot on goal.
  • The second half proved to be just as physical, and the Tigers were called for a foul in the box in the 54th minute, leading to a Paul Duffy penalty kick score to make it a 2-0 contest
  • R-MC had a flurry of shots off corner kicks in the 59th and 60th minutes but were turned back twice by Gray Sutter and had another shot blocked
  • H-SC countered and Josh McCormack fired off a shot on goal but had it saved
  • Spell Carr took a shot from just outside the top left of the box that narrowly went over the crossbar at 82:03 and Cole Burton followed with an attempt off a set piece at 83:49 that went just wide of the target

  • Brian Breslin stopped three shots


  • R-MC outshot H-SC 14-11 with a 5-3 advantage in shots on goal
  • The Yellow Jackets had six corner kicks compared to three for the Tigers
  • The two squads combined for 40 fouls and eight yellow cards
