Hampden-Sydney Golf B Team Tied For Third At The Ted Keller Memorial Tournament

GLEN ALLEN, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College's B Golf Team posted a first-round score of 309 on Saturday to stand in a tie for third among 12 teams at the Ted Keller Memorial Tournament at the Dominion Golf Club in Glen Allen.  Freshman Alex Rubino/Charlotte, N.C. is leading the Tigers with his day one score of 75, tied for sixth individually among 62 golfers.

Rubino posted one birdie and 14 pars during his opening round at the par 72, 6,870-yard layout.  He is being followed by sophomore Sam McNamara/Charlottesville (77, 15th), freshman Trevor Elliott/Richmond (78, T-16th), junior Varun Yerramsetti/Birmingham, Ala. (79, T-18th), along with sophomore Keith Marks/Midlothian (82, T-34th).  Sophomore Jimmy Hill/Mechanicsville played as an individual and posted a 79, tied for 18th, as well.

Host Randolph-Macon is leading the event with its 300, while Ahmad Reedus of Virginia Union is the individual leader at two-under 70.

H-SC will continue and complete its competition in the tournament on Sunday.
