FOREST, VA-Sophomore forward Harrison George (Raleigh, NC/Leesville) has just been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Player of the Week after his MVP performance in the Car Coop/Weenie Miller Holiday Hoops Tournament this past week. This is George's second honor this season.
George, the reigning ODAC Rookie of the Year, averaged 19 points and 8.5 rebounds a contest to earn the MVP honors for The Car Coop/Weenie Miller Memorial Holiday Hoops Tournament. He also added on 3.0 assists, 2.5 steals, and shot 72.7% from the floor. On 12/29 vs. Marymount, Harrison posted 17 points (8-of-11 shooting), 7 rebounds, three assists, three steals, and one block. Against Medaille in the championship game, he tallied a double-double with 21 points (8-of-11 shooting) and 10 rebounds along with three assists, two steals, and one block.
On the season, George is leading the ODAC with 19.7 points-per-game while snaring a team-high 7.6 rebounds-per-game. The sophomore is connecting on an impressive 62.1% of his field goal attempts. He is also adding 1.9 assists and 1.5 steals-per-game.
