    After a stellar season with All-ODAC and All-Region honors, sophomore forward Harrison George has earned First Team All-State honors voted on by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID). As a freshman, George was named the VaSID State Rookie of the Year.

  • Tigers Fall in Heartbreaker in ODAC Quarterfinals

    Hampden-Sydney overcame a 16 point first half deficit to take a 75-74 lead over Eastern Mennonite with just 18 seconds remaining in the last game of the ODAC Quarterfinals in the Salem Civic Center. It was Eli Crawford who put the game-winning tip in with under two seconds left lifting his team to advance to the Semifinals after a Ru White half court shot fell off the rim.

    The Hampden-Sydney Tigers basketball team defeated Emory & Henry 71-61 in the first round of the ODAC Tournament. The win advances Hampden-Sydney to the quarterfinals on Friday night where they will face #3 seed Eastern Mennonite at 8 p.m.
  • Randolph-Macon Holds Off Furious Tiger Comeback

    The Tigers trailed by as many as 19 points late in the first-half, but a furious rally led to a thrilling finish, but the Randolph-Macon Yellow Jackets won 61-60. The loss snaps a seven-game Tiger winning streak. The win gives R-MC the #2 seed for the ODAC Tournament while H-SC gets the sixth seed. The Tigers will host Emory & Henry on Tuesday in the first-round of the ODAC Tournament at 7 p.m.

H-SC is now 15-8 overall and 7-7 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC), just one game behind Randolph for fifth place in conference.

    Hampden-Sydney was 53.8% from the floor en route to an 87-83 road win over #19 Ferrum College. The hot shooting Tigers used a 42-28 cushion to improve to 13-8 on the season, while Ferrum falls to 19-3.

    Hampden-Sydney won its second straight game while wrapping up a four game home stand with a 71-50 win over Bridgewater. The Tigers showed solid defense all night, holding the Eagles to just 30% shooting on 21-of-70 shooting and just 4-of-21 (19%) from beyond the arc.

    Senior forward Colin O'Neill was nearly flawless on the offensive end shooting 8-of-9 from the floor for a career-high 21 points in the Tigers' 71-61 win over Randolph College (11-4, 7-3) in Fleet Gymnasium. Hampden-Sydney snapped a four-game win streak for the red-hot Wildcats.

    Hampden-Sydney outscored Lynchburg 48-37 in the second half, but it was not enough as Lynchburg held on for a 76-74 ODAC win in Fleet Gymnasium. The Tigers were led by sophomore Harrison George who scored 21 points on 7-of-12 shooting.

    Tenth-ranked Randolph-Macon College narrowly escaped from Hampden-Sydney with a 70-68 win in a classic game in the storied rivalry in front of a packed, standing-room-only crowd of 2,500.

    Hampden-Sydney snapped a two game skid with a defensive minded win over Washington & Lee to improve the Tigers to 9-6 on the season. With the win, Hampden-Sydney ended a three-game road stretch and will get set to return to the friendly confines of Fleet Gymnasium to face arch rival and tenth ranked Randolph-Macon College.

    The Tigers mounted a furious comeback in the waning minutes of the game while making an 8-1 run to end the game, but it was not enough as Bridgewater College held on for the 53-48 ODAC win in Bridgewater's Nininger Hall.

    Hampden-Sydney remains perfect at home while capturing its first Old Dominion Athletic Conference contest with its 87-72 win over rival Roanoke College. The Tigers came out of the gates firing on all cylinders, as they scored 45 first half points on 57.7% (15-of-26) accuracy from the floor and 70.0% (7-of-10) shooting from beyond the arc.
  • Tigers' Upset Bid Falls Short at No. 3 VWC

    Hampden-Sydney came close to upsetting undefeated and third-ranked Virginia Wesleyan (13-0, 4-0) but fell just short as they took a 69-61 loss. Sophomore Harrison George led all scorers with an impressive 27 points on 11-20 shooting to go with eight rebounds.

    The Hampden-Sydney Tigers basketball team defeated Medaille College 92-73 to convincingly win the Car Coop/Weenie Miller Holiday Hoops Tournament Championship. H-SC led 42-23 at the half and Medaille could never cut the deficit to less than 15 as the Tigers sailed to victory.

    The Hampden-Sydney Tigers advance to the Championship game of the Car Coop/Weenie Miller Holiday Hoops Tournament after defeating the Saints of Marymount University 62-57 in the first round of play. With the win the Tigers improve to 6-3 on the season.

    Despite an early 6-2 lead, Hampden-Sydney fell 74-57 to ODAC-foe Randolph College. Hampden-Sydney was led by sophomore Harrison George who scored 16 points in the effort. Senior Colin O'Neill added a season-high 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting.

    The Hampden-Sydney Tigers saw five players score in double figures in their win over Johnson and Wales University. Though the Tigers led 37-21 at the half, they outscored the Wildcats 53-11 in the final 20 minutes to collect the 90-32 victory.

    Hampden-Sydney forward Harrison George was named the ODAC Player of the Week for his work in the Tigers' three games this past week. While helping Hampden-Sydney to a 2-1 record, including a sweep of the South Region Hoops Challenge, the sophomore averaged 20.3 points and 7.7 rebounds.
