HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA-The Hampden-Sydney Tigers will play in the friendly confines of Lewis C. Everett Stadium for the first time in 2018 as they will host the Captains of Christopher Newport University on Saturday afternoon. The two new rivals will be meeting for just the seventh time in the series that began in 2012 with the score knotted at three. Each team has gone 2-1 on their home field, but it has been the Captains who have won the last two meetings - including a 45-27 decision in the last outing at Everett Stadium in 2016.
The Tigers have won the other two games at home, taking the first meeting in 2012 by a score of 42-20 and a 35-30 decision in 2014.
Saturday will mark the second of the Tigers three out of conference games, and the first of three straight home games. The team will host the University of England next Saturday and will open up conference play against Emory & Henry on September 29, following the team's bye week.
With the addition of Ferrum to the ODAC this season, the Tigers' game against Emory & Henry will begin a seven game conference stretch in which the team will seek their tenth ODAC Championship.
