Tigers Return to the Road, Face E&H Saturday

Ben Carson

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA-For the fourth time in six games, the Hampden-Sydney football team will play away from the friendly confines of Lewis C. Everett Stadium as the Tigers look to return to the win column against the Wasps of Emory & Henry College on October 17. Saturday will mark the 72nd meeting between the two programs with Emory & Henry holding a slight 36-35 advantage in the series.

Despite the Wasps leading the all-time series, it has been the Tigers who have been dominate as of late, being declared victors in the last 13 meetings dating back to 2002, including a 33-12 win in the last game in Emory (2013).

The two teams had different outcomes last week; the Tigers fell one yard short of tying the game, falling 35-28 against Washington & Lee while the Wasps beat Bridgewater handily, 31-7.

The Wasps have had a strong start to the season, standing at 4-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play. The Tigers are not far behind, however, with a 3-2 overall record and 1-1 conference mark.

Kickoff on the 17th is scheduled for 1:00 pm. To find links for audio, video, and live stats, click here. To view the game notes previewing the game, click here
