HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA-Hampden-Sydney, having won its ninth overall and second consecutive ODAC Championship, has advanced to the 2014 NCAA Division III Football Championship and will travel to Dover, Delaware to face fourth-ranked Wesley in the first round of the playoffs.
This season marks the sixth postseason appearance in eight years for the Tigers, who advanced to the second round in 2013. The Wolverines enter the playoffs for the tenth straight season and are coming off of a 2013 run that ended 62-59 to Mount Union in the national quarterfinals.
These two teams have met five times before, with Wesley holding a 4-1 advantage of the series. Their last meeting was in the first round of the 2007 playoffs - the Tigers first appearance under Marty Favret. Wesley prevailed 45-17 at Scott D. Miller Stadium.
The winner of Saturday's match up will face the winner of Husson (8-1, 7-0 ECFC) and MIT (9-0, 7-0 NEFC) on Saturday, November 29.
Tickets can be purchased at Wesley and will be $10 for adults, $5 for students, and children under two will be admitted for free.
