HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA-Hampden-Sydney will hit the road for the final time in the 2014 regular season as the 22nd-ranked Tigers will travel to Jopson Field to face the Eagles of Bridgewater College. The Tigers, winners of their last six, have used their high powered offense of over 46 points and 450 yards-per-game to overpower opponents. The team has garnered the last three ODAC Offensive Players of the Week with Nash Nance (Calhoun, GA/Tennessee) earning the honor against Washington & Lee and Shenandoah, and Holton Walker (Lynchburg, VA/Brookville) against Emory & Henry.
Bridgewater, at 5-2 overall, enters the game coming off a 24-13 win over Washington & Lee in which senior running back Jacob Wright ran for a career-high 192 yards and two touchdowns.
These two teams have met 70 times in the series that began in 1929, with the Tigers owning a 57-13 advantage. It was the Eagles the dominated the series in the early 2000s, winning eight straight from 1999 to 2006. The Tigers, however, have won the last seven, beginning with a 38-31 win in 2007.
