HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA-Hampden-Sydney will remain on the road and look to remain perfect in ODAC play as the Tigers travel to Lexington to face the Generals of Washington & Lee. Hampden-Sydney is coming off of its third straight win and second big offensive output in as many weeks, taking down Catholic 62-14.
The Generals, on the other hand, have had a tough start to the 2014 season, starting 0-4. Most recently, Washington & Lee fell 52-28 to undefeated Guilford in its conference opener.
Saturday will mark the 73rd meeting between these two teams in a series that began in 1899. Hampden-Sydney leads the series 37-33-2, and no team has won back-to-back meetings since the Tigers reeled off three straight from 2007 to 2009.
The road gets no easier for the Tigers, who play at home next week for the first time in nearly a month to face undefeated Emory & Henry (4-0, 1-0) before returning the road for two more against Shenandoah and Bridgewater. The team finishes out the regular season at home but does so against two of its toughest opponents: Guilford and Randolph-Macon.
