Hamlett, Wiles Named Third-Team All-Region

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA – Christian Hamlett (Midlothian, VA/Cosby) has been named Third-Team All-South Region by, and Spencer Wiles (Belmont, NC/South Point) was also named Third-Team All-South Region by the American Baseball Coaches Association.

Hamlett had an outstanding season for the Tigers, starting in all 41 of his appearances while recording a hit in 38 games, including a school record of 35 consecutive games, stretching from February 10 to April 21. He led the team in the regular season with 60 hits and finished third on the team at the end of the year.  He concluded the season with a .357 batting average. Hamlett led the team with 16 stolen bases and three triples. He also had ten doubles and one homerun, while having scored 42 runs and batted in another 23. Hamlett was named First-Team All-ODAC on April 25

Wiles had a record breaking season, breaking the school record for doubles in season with 25 and the single-season hits record with 65. He had a monster season at the plate, batting .399 while also leading the team with 47 runs. He batted in 32 runs and knocked two homeruns.
