Two Wrestlers Represent Tigers in NCAA Regionals

FRANKLIN COUNTY, VA-The Hampden-Sydney Tigers had two wrestlers represent the program in the NCAA Division III East Regional Wrestling Championship this past weekend, with the Tigers outscoring two programs.

Freshman David Sniffen (Manassas, VA/Osbourn Park) wrestled for the Tigers at the 157-pound division. Sniffen had two close matches, falling 3-1 to All-American Logan Meister of Ferrum and then falling 16-12 in a back-and-forth match with Muhlenberg's Michael Dougan.

At the 149-pound weight class, freshman Caleb Corbett (Chesapeake, VA/Hickory) went 1-2 for the Tigers. After falling 7-5 to Tommy Grifa of Johns Hopkins, he bounced back with a win over Delaware Valley's Nick Ottum. In his final match, he fell to James Beirne of The College of New Jersey.
