Betsy Leonard is entering her 8th season at the helm of both the Cross Country and Swimming programs for the 2018-19 campaign.

In 2017, the Tigers placed second at the ODAC Preview Meet while Lewis Brooks won the meet. The 2016 squad finished second at the Randolph Hokum Karem Relay Meet with Maxwell Morgan and Lewis Brooks taking first place.
The 2015 team won the Hampden-Sydney Invitational 19-40. Lewis Brooks placed in the top 15 at the ODAC Preview Meet and 32nd at the ODAC Championship, the Tigers highest individual placement since Andrew Stoddard placed 31st in 2012. H-SC also had three other top-15 placements at the Maroon Invitational and the Hornet Harrier Invitational.
In 2013, H-SC hosted both the ODAC Preview Meet and the ODAC Championship meets. The Tigers placed 5th at the Washington and Lee Invitational and followed up with a second-place finish at the Maroon Invitational.
Coach Leonard was the Assistant Director for TigeRec from 2010 to 2012 and was promoted to Director in December 2012. In her role with TigeRec, she is an AFPA (American Fitness Professional and Associates) Certified Personal Trainer and is the Fitness Instructor.
She attended York College (PA) and was a member of the school's swim and track teams. Along with her passion for nutrition and fitness, Betsy is an avid horseback rider and trainer. Coach Leonard currently resides in Farmville, VA, with her husband, Berkeley, who is the Associate Dean of Admissions at Hampden-Sydney, and three sons Isaiah, Gabe, and Cooper.
