Cross Country Finishes 8th at Great American Cross Country Festival

CARY, NC - The Hampden-Sydney Cross Country team was the top Division III team at the Great American Cross Country Festival, taking eighth in the 10-team event.

Andrew Stoddard (Richmond, VA / Mills E. Godwin) was the top D3 runner at the meet, crossing the finish line in 27:56 for 28th place. William Imeson (Harrisonburg, VA / Harrisonburg) placed 46th in 30:28 while Andrew Craver (East Bend, NC / Forbush) came in 57th with a time of 31:39. Drew Fletcher (Arlington, VA / Bishop O'Connell) posted a 32:41 for 60th place, and John Sheffield rounded out the scoring for the Tigers with a 64th place finish in 33:56.

Brett Crocker (Troutville, VA / Lord Botetourt) trekked the course in 35:02 while David Joseph Hart (Virginia Beach, VA / First Colonial) finished the event in 35:21. Braxton Terry (Pulaski, VA / John Handley) recorded a 36:20, and Jefferson Thompson rounded out the Tiger runners in a time of 36:31.

The Tigers hit the course next on October 13 when they travel to Newport News, VA, for the Christopher Newport Invitational.
