Tigers Clinch Home Game for ODAC Tournament, Defeat Bridgewater 6-3

Hampden-Sydney Tennis defeated Bridgewater College 6-3 on Thursday and clinched a top-four seed and a home game in the ODAC Tournament on Wednesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • H-SC got their winning way started with an 8-4 win by Matthew Moody and Michael Moody at #1 doubles over Joe Dillenbeck and Josh Rodgers
  • William Driskill and Levy Young made it a 2-0 Tiger lead by defeating Emmett Johnson and Sonet Gandhi 8-5
  • Bridgewater avoided being the victim of the doubles sweep with a 8-5 victory at #3
  • Clark Cummings gave H-SC their third win of the day as he rolled 6-0, 6-0 over Freddie Roberts at the #4 singles flight
  • Michael Moody put the Tigers on the verge of clinching as he upended Johnson 6-2, 6-2
  • Following an Eagles win at the #2 flight, Matthew Moody clinched the match for the Tigers at 7-6 (7-3), 6-4
  • Grayson Burns provided the Tigers with their sixth and final win as he bounced back from a 2-6 setback in the first set to win the next set 6-2 and then the super tiebreaker 10-5 at #6
