Tennis Beats Macon For Third Consecutive Time

Hampden-Sydney Tennis won their third consecutive match over Randolph-Macon, defeating the Yellow Jackets 7-2 on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Tigers rolled in doubles play for the sweep
  • Matthew Moody and Michael Moody made short work of Baxter Carter and Alex Hein in an 8-2 win at the #1 spot
  • Clark Cummings and Grayson Burns followed behind with an 8-3 win at #3
  • William Driskill and Levy Young finished out doubles competition with an 8-4 victory at #2
  • Matthew Moody pushed the lead out to 4-0 as he dominated Jacob Haines 6-0, 6-1
  • Following a loss at #2, Cummings clinched the match at #4 with a 6-2, 6-2 defeat of Erik Moulton
  • Burns continued his dominating play this year at the #6 flight by snatching a win 6-2, 6-1
  • Michael Moody gave the Tigers their last win on the day in come-from-behind style as he dropped the first set 4-6 but bounced back to take set two 6-2 to force a super tiebreaker, taking the tiebreaker 10-5
