Salisbury Tennis Beats Hampden-Sydney 9-0

FREDERICKSBURG, VA - The Salisbury tennis team defeated Hampden-Sydney 9-0 at Mary Washington University.

Zach King (Henrico, VA / Mills Godwin) and David Dodson (Roanoke, VA / Cave Spring) dropped an 8-2 decision at #1 doubles as did Houston Wilson (Norfolk, VA / Norfolk Collegiate) and Aleksander Turkovic (Belgrade, Serbia / Miller School) at #3 doubles. Lawrence Bowers (New Bern, NC / Arendell Parrott Academy) and Houghton Flanagan (Charlotte, NC / Myers Park) teamed together at #2 doubles but lost 8-4.

King took a 6-0, 6-4 defeat at #1 singles, and Dodson lost a 6-1, 6-1 decision at the #2 flight. Bowers was upended 7-5, 6-3 at the #3 spot, and Flanagan battled to a 7-6 (7-3), 6-1 loss at #4 singles. Wilson lost at #5 singles 6-1, 6-2, and Turkovic dropped a 6-1, 7-5 match at the #6 flight.

Hampden-Sydney travels to Sweet Briar College on March 2 to play Emory & Henry College at noon.
