Swimming Scores 121-71 Victory Over Greensboro

GREENSBORO, NC - Hampden-Sydney Swimming defeated Greensboro College for the third time in a row, taking the win 121-71.

John Sheffield (Salem, VA / Salem), Alton Brieske, Ke Shang (Hampden-Sydney, VA), and Andy Snow (Deltaville, VA / Christchurch)  took first in the 200 yard medley relay in a time of 1:47.84. Ford Scott (Midlothian, VA / Kenston Forest) and Snow finished first and second in the 50 yard freestyle, posting respective times of 23.74 and 24.53. The Tigers took all three spots in the 200 yard IM with Sheffield finishing first with a 2:20.35 time. Shang beat out teammate Daniel Moyers (Norfolk, VA / Norfolk Academy) to earn top honors in the 100 yard butterfly at 1:00.35.

Snow likewise beat out Lee Ayscue (Lynchburg, VA / Virginia Episcopal) in the 100 yard freestyle, completing the race in 54.76. Sheffield and Shang finished first and second in the 100 yard backstroke with times of 1:02.24 and 1:02.94. Brieske won the 100 yard breaststroke, finishing the event in 1:08.97.

Hampden-Sydney returns to Greensboro College on January 18.
