In a stout defensive effort by both teams, Berry needed overtime to defeat Hampden-Sydney Soccer 1-0 in overtime on Saturday in the Berry Invitational.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • While H-SC got outshot just 5-2 in the first half, the Tigers allowed no shots on goal while having two of their own
  • Berry upped the ante in the second half, recording nine shots but still managing just two on goal as the Tiger's defense continued their fine showing on the afternoon
  • The Tigers got their last shot to end the game in regulation when Ryan Turner's shot at 87:45 was saved by Carson Oakes
  • Jake Williamson finished off a pass by Steven Moore at 92:58 in overtime to earn the win for the Vikings
