Three Tigers Named All-ODAC
FOREST, VA - Nick DeProspero (Midlothian, VA/Cosby), Curran Blackwell (Wilson, NC/Greenfield), and Bryan Talbert (Seaford, VA/York) were named Soccer All-ODAC on Tuesday. DeProspero and Blackwell were named to the first-team while Talbert garnered third-team honors.
This marks the third consecutive appearance on the first-team for DeProspero. The senior midfielder and captain finished fourth on the team in points with eight while posting a team-best four assists. Of his two goals, one came as the game-winner in a 3-0 victory over Lynchburg College. Consistently one of the top midfielders in the ODAC in his four years, he concluded his career second in the Hampden-Sydney record book for assists with 28 and also posted 54 points and 13 goals. While he has excelled defensively, he has also been a huge asset on the defensive end as well as a leader due to his exceptional work rate.
Blackwell repeated as a first-team honoree this year. A lockdown defender, Blackwell has been a vital piece of the Hampden-Sydney defense over his four-year career. This year he was a cornerstone of a defense that registered six shutouts and allowed one or fewer goals in eight contests.
Talbert stepped up as one of the top offensive threats for the Tigers in his junior season. He scored four goals along with one assist for nine points and provided a tremendous presence on the defensive end. The midfielder posted a career-best three goals against Marymount.
