Tigers to Travel to Ferrum, Host Eastern Mennonite

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA - The Tiger Soccer team travels to Ferrum on Wednesday for a 4 pm non-conference contest and will host Eastern Mennonite on Saturday at 1 pm.

Ferrum - 2-2 Overall
Ferrum is 2-2 on the season, posting a 2-1 win over Virginia Intermont and a 3-0 victory against Warren Wilson College. The two losses come on the road, 0-1 at ODAC foe Emory & Henry and 0-2 at Bluefield College.

Aaron Gustine leads the team in scoring with seven points on three goals and one assist. Paul Maithya has three points with a goal and an assist, and Nelson Hernandez has one score. Asa Fox, Eddy Funes, and Jae White each have an assist. Goalkeeper Justin Robinson has a 1.00 goals against average along with 16 saves for an 80% save percentage.

Ferrum has outshot its opponents 67-40 with a 30-20 advantage in shots on goal. Ferrum's opponents have tallied 14 corner kicks to 11 for the Panthers.

Eastern Mennonite - 2-2-1 Overall
Eastern Mennonite opened up the season at the Mary Washington Soccer Classic, playing the same two teams the Tigers did. Both H-SC and EMU lost 1-0 to Mary Washinton, but the Tigers were able to earn a decisive 3-0 victory over Marymount while the Royals settled for a 1-1 double overtime tie.

Eastern Mennonite got their first win of the year in a 2-0 decision against Cairn. They followed the Cairn game with a tough 2-1 loss to Dickinson but rebounded to earn a 2-0 victory against Stevenson.

A balanced offense thus far, five players have scored their six goals with Adam Moyer having two. In total, seven players have contributed at least one point. Goalkeeper Andrew Yoder checks in with a goals against average of just 0.77 on 16 saves and an 80% save percentage.

The Royals hold a narrow 66-62 advantage in shots and have accumulated 20 corner kicks to 23 for their opponents.
