Talbert notched his first goal 23:03 into the game and scored his second off a rebound in the 65th minute. Marymount looked to get a bunch of momentum, firing off a few shots in the waning minutes, but Talbert ended all hopes of a late miracle comeback as he converted a Nick DeProspero (Midlothian, VA / Cosby) pass into his third goal of the day.
The Tiger defense was outstanding throughout the contest, limiting the Saints to just one shot on goal on five shots and four corner kicks as they were led by starters Jackson Parker (Raleigh, NC / Sanderson), Andre Graham (Midlothian, VA / Midlothian), Jason Haas (Newport News, VA / Menchville), and Curran Blackwell (Wilson, NC / Greenfield). H-SC held a 14-5 edge in shots and an 8-4 advantage in corner kicks. A chippy second half saw five yellow cards issued.
The Tigers open their home schedule on Wednesday with a 4 pm contest against the Seahawks of St. Mary's (MD).
