Three Named to All-State Soccer Team, Two on First-Team

BRIDGEWATER, VA - Curran Blackwell (Wilson, NC/Greenfield), Nick DeProspero (Midlothian,VA/Cosby), and Bryan Wharton (Glen Allen, VA/Deep Run) were named to the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) All-State Men's Soccer Team on Thursday.

Blackwell and DeProspero were named to the First-Team. Earlier this year they were both named to the All-ODAC First-Team, and Blackwell earned NSCAA All-South Region honors yesterday. Wharton posted Second-Team All-State honors.

Blackwell tied for the team lead in goals with six and was second in points with 13. A stout defender, Blackwell often helped shut down the opposition's top offensive threat and proved to be an excellent 1v1 defender. He was named a team captain following the conclusion of the season in honor for his outstanding leadership throughout the season.

DeProspero tied for the team lead in assists with five, and along with three goals, was fourth on the squad in points with 11. He currently sits third in H-SC history for career assists with 24. A consumate athlete with a tremendous work ethic, DeProspero has been an excellent leader for a young Tiger team.

Wharton lead the team in points with 15 and tied for the team lead in goals with six. One of the most productive offensive players in school history, Wharton concluded his career this fall second in career goals (46) and points (105).
