Blackwell, DeProspero Named First-Team All-ODAC
FOREST, VA - Curran Blackwell (Wilson, NC/Greenfield) and Nick DeProspero (Midlothian, VA/Cosby) were named First-Team All-ODAC on Thursday, as voted on by league coaches. Bryan Wharton (Glen Allen, VA/Deep Run) was tabbed to the second team.
Blackwell continued to excel on both offense and defense as a junior. He tied for the team lead in goals with six and was second in points with 13. Also an excellent defender, Blackwell often help shut down the opposition's top offensive threat and proved to be an excellent 1v1 defender. His leadership was valuable throughout the season, and he was awarded by being named a team captain for the 2012 season.
DeProspero tied for the team lead in assists with five, and along with three goals, was fourth on the squad in points with 11. He currently sits third in H-SC history for career assists with 24. A consumate athlete with a tremendous work ethic, DeProspero has been an excellent leader for a young Tiger team.
Wharton lead the team in points with 15 and tied for the team lead in goals with six. One of the most productive offensive players in school history, Wharton concluded his career this fall second in career goals (46) and points (105).
