HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA – The Randolph Macon Yellow Jackets (2-0-0) won their second consecutive game to claim first place in the 2005 Arby's/ H-SC Soccer Classic as they defeated Catholic University (1-1-1) by a score of 2-0. In the afternoon game at Miller Field, the Tigers of Hampden-Sydney (2-0-1) blanked Lebanon Valley College (0-2-0), 1-0, in the first overtime.

The Yellow Jackets found the net at 51:10 into the game off the foot of Greg Ridout (Chester, VA) on a loose ball assist that was quickly controlled and delivered by Alec Depcrynski (Midlothian, VA). Just more than ten minutes later, midfielder Adam Jones scored on a direct kick assist from defender Dane Wendell (Williamsburg, VA).

The winning goal for the Tigers came at 97:14 when senior forward and captain Grant Dickens (Raleigh, NC/ Leesville Road) fed fellow senior forward Bobby Hillmann (Raleigh, NC/ Leesville Road) with a touch pass that was netted for the victory. For the tournament, the Tigers finished with a record of 1-0-1, securing second place.

The Yellow Jackets of Randolph Macon placed five members of their squad on the all-tournament team including tournament MVP Dane Wendell (Williamsburg, VA). The All tournament team is as follows:

R-MC: Robert Glaze (Baltimore, MD), Kevan Quinn (St. Catherines/ Ontario,CA), Adam Jones (West Chester, PA), Nick Warner (Timonium, MD)

Hampden-Sydney: Ben Marchetti (Richmond, VA/ Benedictine H.S.) Kerry Burke (Chester, VA/Thomas Dale), Michael Krewinghaus (Yorktown, VA/Tabb H.S)

Catholic University: Matt Brideau( Fairfax Station, VA), Stephen Raab (E. Williston, NY)

Lebanon Valley College: Christian Bednar (Millersburg, PA)

Hampden-Sydney College plays its next four games on the road ad will return home to play Lynchburg on September 21, 2005 at 4:00 pm.
