HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA - Hampden-Sydney Lacrosse will host Randolph-Macon at 4:30 pm Tuesday at Lewis C. Everett Stadium for the ODAC Tournament Quarterfinals. Live Video and Live Stats will be available.
The Tigers (11-5, 6-3 ODAC) earned the #4 seed for the Tournament while the Yellow Jackets (9-8, 5-4 ODAC) are the #5 seed. The two teams met back on Friday, March 22 in the first-ever home night game. H-SC won the meeting 14-9 and was ahead 14-7 with just over six minutes remaining. Ryan Martin (Midlothian, VA / Cosby) and Jess Hawthorne (Richmond, VA / Collegiate) both posted four goals, James Hughes (Raleigh, NC / Middle Creek) had three scores, and Thomas Armstrong (Charlotte, NC / Charlotte Latin) had two goals and two assists. Jason Andrews added three goals and an assists for Randolph-Macon while Tim Rowe had three scores. Jake Koferl (Huntersville, NC / Lake Norman) won 10-of-15 face-offs with six groundball, and Nick Benhoff went 12-22 with nine groundballs for R-MC. David Noftsinger (Richmond, VA / Collegiate School) and Cody Hornung (Bala Cynwyd, PA / Lower Merion) combined for 11 saves, and Jordan Devito had 11 for the visitors. Ned Bowden (Crozier, VA / Collegiate) posted a game-high four caused turnovers.
The winner will advance to face #1 seed Roanoke College on Saturday in Salem, VA, for the ODAC Tournament semifinals. The Maroons will host both semi-final contests along with the championship game.
