  • Golf Plays in O'Briant-Jensen Memorial Tournament
    October 25, 2017
    The Hampden-Sydney golf team competed in the O’Briant-Jensen Memorial Tournament, placing 12th in the highly competitive field. As a team, the Tigers finished the two-day tournament at 45 over par. Methodist won the event at 12 over par, while Carnegie Mellon (+13) and Huntingdon (+15).
  • Golf Competes in VSGA Intercollegiate

    The Hampden-Sydney golf team had five players compete as individuals in the VSGA Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday. There were 101 golfers in the two-day event, and all five Tigers placed in the top-51.
  • $4 Million Gift to Support H-SC Athletics Endowment

    Hampden-Sydney College announced a pledge of $4 million from John W. "Bill" Kirk III '72 and his wife, Shireen, to support the endowment of the H-SC athletic program.
  • Tigers Compete in Oglethorpe Invitational

    The Hampden-Sydney golf team competed in the competitive Oglethorpe Invitational at Royal Lakes over the weekend, finishing 15th in the 18-team field.
  • Allen Smith Named ODAC Golfer of the Week

    Freshman golfer Allen Smith has been named this week's Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Golfer of the Week for his medalist performance in the Shenandoah Invitational last week. 
  • Tigers Win Shenandoah Invitational

    The Hampden-Sydney golf team won the Shenandoah Invitational and did so in convincing fashion, finishing 20 strokes ahead of the next closest team. As a team, the Tigers finished the two-round event at 12 over par, while Mary Washington and Bridgewater rounded out the top three, shooting 32 and 37 over par, respectively.
  • Golf Finishes Fourth in Tom Kinder Memorial Tournament

    The Hampden-Sydney golf team opened its fall season with a fourth-place finish in the Tom Kinder Memorial Golf Tournament, hosted by Bridgewater College. The 36-hole event, usually held over two days, was played in full on Monday to avoid incoming weather on Tuesday. As a team, the Tigers shot ten-over par in the 15 team field. Guilford won the event at an impressive 16-under par, while North Carolina Wesleyan (+4) and Ferrum (+8) rounded out the top three.
