  • 78 Tigers Earn Academic All-ODAC Honors

    Old Dominion Athletic Conference student-athletes set a record for the eighth straight season as 1,974 honorees comprise the 2016-17 ODAC All-Academic Team.

    Hampden-Sydney College announced today the appointment of Mr. Chad Eisele as Director of Athletics.
  • Smith Named ODAC Golfer of the Year, Three Earn All-ODAC

    Junior golfer Parker Smith helped headline the ODAC Golf awards, being named the 2017 ODAC Golfer of the Year. Smith, who also earned First Team All-ODAC honors, was joined on the all-conference teams by Third Team selections Bruce Shober and Alex Simmons.
  • Golf Finishes Third at ODAC Championship

    The 24th-ranked Hampden-Sydney golf team finished in third place in the 2017 ODAC Championship, held at the Wintergreen Resort. 19th-ranked Guilford won the event, shooting 25-over par as a team while the 14th-ranked Generals of Washington & Lee finished second, shooting 49-over par. As a team, Hampden-Sydney finished 64-over par.
  • Golf Wins Roanoke Invitational

    The Hampden-Sydney golf team won the Roanoke College Invitational on Thursday while freshman Bruce Shober took home medalist honors. As a team the Tigers shot 25 over par, while Bridgewater came in second place at 44 over.
  • Golf Finishes Fourth in DIII Match Play Invitational

    The Hampden-Sydney golf team had a strong showing in the Division III Match Play Invitational at the Grandover Resort, just narrowly missing a third place finish in the eight team field – seven of which are ranked in the top 30 of Golfstat.com’s Division III rankings.
  • Golf Competes at Lynchburg College Invitational

    The Hampden-Sydney golf team took four golfers to compete as individuals in the Lynchburg College Invitational on Monday and Tuesday. The Tigers faired well, with two finishing in the top ten.
  • Tigers Place 12th in Competitive Jekyll Island Invitational
    March 22, 2017
    The Hampden-Sydney Tigers placed 12th overall in the highly-competitive Jekyll Island Invitational over the weekend. The field consisted of 29 teams, several in the top-25. The Tigers shot 38 over-par in the three round event; Greensboro won the team event at 11 over-par, and Huntingdon, Methodist, and Oglethorpe all tied for second at 15 over-par.
  • Golf Ties for Second in TaylorMade-ADIDAS Intercollegiate

    The Hampden-Sydney golf team opened its spring season with a strong start, tying for second place in the TaylorMade-ADIDAS Intercollegiate. Indian Hills Community College ran away with the event, finishing 26 over-par while the Tigers and Carnegie Mellon tied for second at 68 over-par.
  • Golf Wraps Up Fall Season With 7th Place Finish

    The Hampden-Sydney golf team closed out the fall season with a seventh place finish in the O’Briant-Jensen Memorial Golf Tournament, hosted by Guilford College in Greensboro. The host-Quakers finished second, behind tournament champion Huntingdon.

    Junior golfer Aaron Persily has been named this week’s Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Golfer of the Week after leading the Tigers in the Royal Lakes Intercollegiate.
  • Golf Finishes 13th in Royal Lakes/Oglethorpe Invitational

    The Hampden-Sydney golf team finished 13 in the Royal Lakes/Oglethorpe Fall Invitational held on Monday and Tuesday. The two-day event featured a strong field of 17 teams with Greensboro winning the event. LaGrange and Oglethorpe rounded out the top three.

  • Golf Wins Shenandoah Invitational

    The Hampden-Sydney golf team improved on its second place finish last week, taking home first place at the Shenandoah Invitational in Winchester, Virginia. The Tigers, who shot 15-over par as a team, finished ten strokes ahead of second place finisher Stevenson.
  • Golf Places Second in Tom Kinder Memorial Tournament
    September 13, 2016
    The Hampden-Sydney golf team opened up its fall season in strong fashion with a second place finish in the Tom Kinder Memorial Golf Tournament. The Tigers shot eight over, while Ferrum won the event shooting an even par in the two-day event. Virginia Wesleyan rounded out the top three at 11 over par.
