Tigers Finish Third in ODAC Championship, Gatz Named All-Tournament

RESULTS

CAPE CHARLES, VA-After holding a share of the lead after 36 holes, senior Sean Gatz (Newport News, VA/Menchville) was named to the All-Tournament Team while finishing four overall and helping the Tigers to a third place finish in the ODAC Championship. Gatz finished the three day event 15 over par with rounds of 76, 78, and 77.

Guilford won its third straight championship while Player of the Year Noah Ratner took home medalist honors. Randolph-Macon finished second.

Junior Rick O'Connell (Goochland, VA/Goochland) was the Tigers next best finisher, and his 24 over par placed him 14th overall in the field of 50. ODAC Rookie of the Year Thomas Cole (Glen Allen, VA/Hermitage) was three strokes behind O'Connell and tied for 17th place.

Sophomore Drew Arnold (Chatham, VA/Chatham) tied for 30th while shooting 35 over par. Third Team All-ODAC pick George Whiting (Charlotte, NC/Myers Park) shot rounds of 77 and 78 but did not finish the first round and was disqualified.
