Tiger Golf Places Sixth in ODAC Championship
CAPE CHARLES, VA-Hampden-Sydney moved up one spot from day one to finish sixth overall in the ODAC Championship at Bay Creek Resort and Club in Cape Charles, Virginia. First Team All-ODAC honoree Rick O'Connell (Goochland, VA/Goochland) led the team tying for 17th overall with rounds of 80 and 76.
Guilford College won the event shooting 20 over par with Andrew Thompson and Nicholas Shedd tying for second place, both shooting three over par. Roanoke College, behind medlist Brandon Ketron (74, 71), placed second at 39 over par. Washington & Lee at 46 over par rounded out the top three.
Sean Gatz (Newport News, VA/Menchville) was just one stroke behind O'Connell finishing 19th with rounds of 80 and 77.
All-ODAC performers Ronnie Fultz (Martinsville, VA/Carlisle) and Drew Arnold (Chatham, VA/Chatham) were also one stroke apart finishing 21st and 22nd. Fultz posted rounds of 78 and 81 to finish 15 over par, and Arnold improved on his day one score of 81 with a 79 on day two.
Trey Cully (Studley, VA/Hanover) rounded out the team, as his two rounds of 81 placed him tied for 24th.
