Hoops Set to Host Bojangles Holiday Challenge

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA-The Hampden-Sydney basketball team will return after a nine day break to host the 2012 Bojangles Holiday Challenge. The two-day event on Saturday and Sunday will feature the Tigers along with the Hawks of Huntingdon College, Blue Jays of Johns Hopkins University, and the WildCats of Randolph College. Hampden-Sydney squares off with Huntingdon on the 29th at 5 pm; that game will be followed by Randolph and Johns Hopkins. Randolph kicks off action on the 30th facing Huntingdon at 2 pm, and the Tigers face Johns Hopkins at 4 pm.

Hampden-Sydney is riding a seven game win streak while posting a perfect 5-0 record at Fleet Gymnasium. In its last outing, Hampden-Sydney downed Marygrove 75-50 behind a career-high 26 points from Khobi Williamson (Norfolk, VA/Maury).

Huntingdon enters the Bojangles Holiday Challenge at 3-6 but has won its last two outings, 75-61 at Millsaps and 81-75 versus Berry. Johns Hopkins stands at 5-3 overall and 3-2 in the Centennial Conference.

Randolph is the lone undefeated team in the ODAC at a perfect 9-0 and is tied for first in conference play with the Tigers at 3-0.
