HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA-Senior Ben Jessee (Midlothian, VA/Cosby) scored a game-high 18 points while Ru White (Chesterfield, VA/L.C. Bird) and Cam Anderson (Charlottesville, VA/Blue Ridge) both posted double-doubles and combined for 21 points and 23 rebounds as the basketball Tigers cruised to an 87-62 victory over Bridgewater College. Harrison George (Raleigh, NC/Leesville) also scored in double figures with 11 points.

Though the Tigers took the first lead of the game on a Jessee triple, Bridgewater kept it close for much of the first half. Every time Hampden-Sydney tried to pull away, Bridgewater climbed back, and an Aaron Adams lay up at the 8:24 mark put the Eagles within two at 25-23.
The Tigers came alive and a 13-5 run capped off by a Greg Lewis (Mechanicsville, VA/Hanover) three pointer made a 38-28 advantage with just over three minutes in the half.
Kyle VanOrden connected on one free throw, but the Tigers held Bridgewater scoreless for the final 2:37 of the half while extending they lead to 49-29 at the half.
The Eagle drought continued into the second half as its first field goal came on an Adams three pointer at the 12:35 mark - making it a 67-34 advantage for the Tigers.
Hampden-Sydney was able to fend off any Eagle comeback holding at least a 30 point advantage until a Kyle Welty lay up put the Eagles within 28 at 83-55.
Bridgewater scored the last two field goals of the game, but the Tigers were able to take the 87-62 victory.
As a team, the Tigers were 33-of-77 (42.9%) from the floor, 7-of-23 (30.4%) from beyond the arc, and 14-of-27 (51.9%) from the free throw line. They dominated the boards, snaring 58 rebounds to Bridgewater's 33.
The Eagles were 21-of-59 (35.6%) from the floor, 4-of-13 (30.8%) from three, and 16-of-21 (76.2%) from the charity stripe.
