HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA-After kicking off the season 2-0 with two wins in the Huntingdon College Classic, #23 Hampden-Sydney will remain on the road this week with games against Methodist University (Nov. 22) and back-to-back contests against Shenandoah and North Carolina Wesleyan in the Fourth Annual South Region Hoops Challenge (Nov. 26-27).

Tuesday night will mark the first time the Hampden-Sydney basketball team will travel to Fayetteville, North Carolina to face the Monarchs under head coach Dee Vick. Last season, the Tigers hosted Methodist in their season opener and took a 75-64 win behind 20 points from Harrison George (Raleigh, NC/Leesville).

Methodist is currently 0-3 on the young season and coming off of a 79-77 loss to Kenyon College. The Monarchs have played all three games on the road, and will host the Tigers for their home opener. Currently, Methodist is being led by sophomore guard James Whitehead who is averaging 18.7 points-per-game. Sophomore forward Bryan Hockaday is averaging 10.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 4.3 blocks-per-game.

The Tigers are coming off of a commanding 98-71 victory of Huntingdon College. Freshman Cam Anderson (Charlottesville, VA/Blue Ridge) had a break out day in his second career start in as many games. The lengthy frosh went 9-of-11 from the floor while scoring a game- and career-high 18 points. George added 17 points and seven rebounds off the bench while Khobi Williamson (Norfolk, VA/Maury) nearly recorded his third career double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds.

After Thanksgiving, the Tigers will travel to the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia for the South Region Hoops Challenge. On the 26th, Hampden-Sydney will clash with future ODAC opponent Shenandoah (0-1, 0-0 USA South). Last season, the Tigers took an 87-78 victory, but this year, Shenandoah is under first year head coach Rob Pryor.

On the 27th, Hampden-Sydney will play its third USA South opponent in three games with a match up against North Carolina Wesleyan (2-1, 0-0 USA South). In season's meeting, the Tigers took a 99-85 victory.
