George Earns Third ODAC Player of the Week Honors

Harrison George

FOREST, VA-Sophomore forward Harrison George (Raleigh, NC/Leesville) has just been named the ODAC Player of the Week for the third time this season, after helping the Tigers to back-to-back wins over nationally ranked opponents this past week.

Last Wednesday, George and the Tigers downed #19 Ferrum College on the road 87-83. The sophomore had an uncharacteristic night from the floor shooting 4-of-12, but his 8-of-8 performance from the charity stripe lifted him to 16 points. He also added ten rebounds for his seventh double-double of the season. He also added four assists and two steals.

In the Tigers' victory against #6 Virginia Wesleyan, George netted a game-high 22 points on 8-of-14 shooting while snaring six caroms.

On the week, George averaged 19.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game. Through twenty two games, the sophomore currently leads the ODAC with 19.8 points per game and is second with 7.9 rebounds per game.

George and the Tigers, who are riding a six game win streak, will host Guilford College on Wednesday, February 16. Tip off is set for 7:00 pm.
