2010-11: Ward will likely step in this season as the Tigers' starting point guard. A lightning quick player, Ward can blow by defenders and either get to the rim or dish to an open teammate. Ward is a great passer and excels in the open court and in transition. A solid on-ball defender, Ward has the quickness and knowledge to pester opposing guards. A natural leader, Ward will direct the team on the court and be an ideal teammate.
2009-10: Ward made an immediate impact as a freshman, playing in all 26 games while starting in five. Was sixth on the team scoring 5.4 points-per-game while tallying 1.7 assists-per-game. Scored in double-digits twice, with 10 points against North Carolina Wesleyan and a career-high 14 points over Emory & Henry. Recorded career-highs in rebounds (5) and assists (7) against Washington Adventist University. Was solid from the free throw line, making 16 of his 19 attempts (84.2%). Shot 39.4% (52-132) from the floor and 32.3% (20-62) from beyond the arc.
High School/AAU Career: Attended Richmond Community High School and played for his zone school John Marshall High School in Richmond, VA. Earned first Team all-district, all-academic district and region, 2nd team all-metro, and was named to the Digital Sports 1st team as a point guard. Also played for the Richmond Metro AAU squad.
Personal: Born January 20, 1991. Son of Randall W. Ward Sr. and Audrey L. Ross. Has five siblings, Brandon (24), Ravell (17), Austin (17), Brianna (15), and De'Shante (7).
