Tigers and Yellow Jackets Clash in 118th Edition of The Game

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA-Hampden-Sydney and Randolph-Macon will square off this Saturday in the 118th edition of "The Game."  The rivalry is the Oldest Small School Rivalry in the South with Hampden-Sydney holding a 60-46-11 advantage in the series.

The series began in 1893 with a 12-6 Randolph-Macon victory in the Tigers' second year as a program. Hampden-Sydney won the second game of the series - 24-0 in 1896 - for the program's second-ever victory.

Randolph-Macon claimed the most recent meeting by a score of 48-34 in Ashland last season, but the Tigers claimed a 31-28 victory the last time the two teams met at Everett Stadium in 2010.

Since 2000, the Tigers boast a 9-3 record against the Jackets, including six straight wins from 2001 to 2007.

The Game will be the last performance at Everett Stadium for the team's 17 seniors.

In addition, the Tiger Athletic Club (TAC) will be celebrating Veteran's Day weekend with their TAC Military Appreciation Day.

The TAC will be collecting funds during the game to help support the Wounded Warrior Project. The Project was founded in 2003 and raises awareness as well as aid to injured service members and their families.

Donations will be collected upon entry to campus as well as at a station under the scoreboard.
