Tigers to Host Emory & Henry in Homecoming Bout

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA-Emory & Henry and Hampden-Sydney meet for the 69th time on Saturday, continuing a series that began in 1922. The Tigers are fresh off of a 24-7 win over Bridgewater and stand at 3-2 overall and 1-1 in conference. The Wasps started off the season 3-0, but are on a two-game skid, including a 45-28 loss to Washington & Lee last Saturday, and stand at 3-2 overall and 0-2 in ODAC play.

The Wasps own a 36-32 advantage in the all-time series, but the Tigers have won each of the past nine meetings. The last E&H victory came in the 2001 campaign via a 34-20 decision.

Last season, the Tigers took a 38-36 victory that nearly went to overtime.  Hampden-Sydney got out to a 19-0 lead in the first quarter and led 29-17 at the half, but the Wasps got things going in the second half, outscoring the Tigers 19-9 including a pair of touchdowns in the final 66 seconds of the game. The Wasps had a chance to tie with a two-point conversion, but they could not complete.

The last time the two squads met here at Everett Stadium, Hampden-Sydney took a 48-10 decision in 2010.
