Nance Named ODAC Player of the Week

FOREST, VA-Sophomore quarterback Nash Nance (Calhoun, GA/Tennessee) was named this week's Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Offensive Player of the Week after his part in the Tigers' 42-20 win over Christopher Newport on Saturday.

The sophomore had a stellar home debut seeing only six throws miss the target as he completed 25-of-31 passes for 339 yards and an ODAC early-season game-high five touchdowns without an interception. He also ran the ball seven times for 42 yards.

Nance completed passes to ten different receivers with three of his touchdown passes covering more than 30 yards including a pair of 36-yard strikes to Holton Walker (Lynchburg, VA/Brookville) and a 41-yard scoring play to Michael Mey (Glen Allen, VA/VMI). His efforts led to five touchdowns in seven first-half possessions on the way to a 35-0 lead at the intermission.

Through two games, Nance has tallied 508 yards, six touchdowns and two interceptions on 41-of-70 accuracy.

The Tigers enter their bye week but will return to action at Everett Stadium on September 22 as they host the Hawks of Huntingdon College. Kick off is set for 1:00 pm.
