Tigers Return to Action, Prepare for Guilford

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA-With fresh legs coming off its bye week, Hampden-Sydney (6-1, 3-0 ODAC) will begin the second half of its conference schedule with the Quakers of Guilford College (1-6, 0-3 ODAC). The Tigers have defeated Catholic, Bridgewater and Emory & Henry, and will gear up for the Quakers, defending ODAC Champion Washington & Lee, and arch-rival Randolph-Macon.

Hampden-Sydney hung on for a 38-36 victory in its last outing on the road against Emory & Henry. Senior running back Kirk Rohle (Mechanicsville, VA/Hanover) recorded his second straight 100-yard day with 149 yards and two touchdowns. Senior Sean Cavanagh (Midlothian, VA/Clover Hill) also had a breakout day with 159 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, Alex Price (Fairfax, VA/Fairfax) tallied a game- and career-high 16 tackles and an interception.

Guilford took a 45-7 loss to Randolph-Macon last week to fall to 0-3 in ODAC play. Offensively, the Quakers are being led by receiver Ben King, who is second in the ODAC in touchdowns (5) and third in yards-per-game (77.6). Defensively, Guilford is 25th in the nation in tackles-for-loss (8.17 pg).
