Cope, Brownell Named All-Tournament Team

LYNCHBURG, VA-Seniors Zeb Cope (Advance, NC/Davie County) and Allan Brownell (Herndon, VA/Herndon) were named to the 2012 ODAC Baseball All-Tournament Team for their outstanding performance in their three post season games. The Tigers lost to the top two seeds but were able to defeat fifth-seeded Guilford 13-8.

Lynchburg's starting pitcher Robert Garrett was named the Most Outstanding Player after pitching two complete game victories - first against the Tigers and second in the championship game against Bridgewater.

Cope started all three of the Tigers' games at second base and recorded a hit in all three games. He went 2-for-4 against both Lynchburg and Guilford and 1-for-4 against Bridgewater finishing the weekend with a .417 average (5-for-12). His best game offensively came against the Quakers as he scored two runs and batted in one.

Brownell, who started the first two games in right field, went 3-for-7 (.428) for the tournament, including a 2-for-3 performance with an RBI against Guilford. The left handed batter sat against Bridgewater as the Eagles started a left handed pitcher.
