HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA-The Hampden-Sydney baseball team held a 1-1 tie with fourth-ranked Christopher Newport until the Captains reeled off five runs in the eighth and ninth to take a 6-1 victory at Ty Cobb Ballpark. With the loss, Hampden-Sydney falls to 4-7, and the Captains improve to 6-2 overall.
After Christopher Newport took a 1-0 lead scoring in the first inning, the Tigers were able to knot the game at 1-1 in the second. Hunter Lewis (Newport News, VA/Menchville) recorded the Tigers' first hit of the day and later scored on a Christian Hamlett (Midlothian, VA/Cosby) RBI single.
